The Argentine cuisine differs from the rest of Latin America cuisine mainly because of its European origins.

With Italian and Spanish cuisine as reference, plus the native ethnic group contributions, the Argentine cuisine stands out mainly for its barbecue, roast beef, turnovers, breaded meat and the worldwide famous dulce de leche (sort of caramel).

What does Mente Argentina offer?

The aim of the program is to teach typical South American dishes with new and modern cooking, presentation and taste combination techniques and has been designed for amateurs and professionals who wish to enlarge their knowledge and interest in our cuisine. Prior knowledge on the subject is not required.

• The regular cooking program lasts 1 month. In this program you will cook South American dishes in detail as well as light dishes, red meat, cakes and desserts.

• The intensive cooking program lasts 2 weeks. You will learn the basic contents of South American cuisine divided in 6 didactic classes.
  

In both programs classes are delivered 3 times a week and generally start in the afternoon so that students can then go on tours, visit Buenos Aires, or keep on practicing…

Some of the dishes that will be taught during the course are the following:

• Barbecue
• Turnovers
• Roast beef a la criolla (garnished with red and green pepper, onion, garlic and oil)
• Milanesa a la napolitana (Breaded meat topped with melted cheese, ham, oregano and egg) Among others.

Information about the Cookery School of Mente Argentina

The cookery school of Mente Argentina has been offering courses in Latin-American regional cuisine for more than 30 years.

The professors have a vast experience in teaching not traditional but gourmet cuisine. Therefore, you will be taught a new cuisine concept.

The school will provide you with the freshest and best ingredients as well as with all the necessary resources for the classes. At the end of each class you will be able to taste the dishes, together with a good glass of wine.

The classes can be delivered both in Spanish and English and can not be attended by more than 6 students. This is to keep a quiet and fun environment.

Mente Argentina offers you the possibility to combine your program with Spanish lessons. In this way, you will be able to learn or improve your Spanish while enjoying a unique experience in Buenos Aires.

Lessons take 4 hours and are delivered from Monday to Friday at the MA Spanish School in reduced groups of up to 8 students. These group classes will be combined with individual lessons so that you can reinforce your weaknesses and we can answer your inquiries in a one on one meeting.

Spanish School's teachers are highly qualified and have a vast experience in teaching Spanish as a second language. Therefore, the classes will be interactive and above all enjoyable!

The classes can be attended both in the morning and the afternoon, so they will not overlap with the activities of your program.
