\nBuenos Aires is a city with a fascinating history and with a very active social and political life. This tour begins with Evita and Peron\u2019s speeches, continues with the \u201cMothers of Plaza de Mayo\u201d claims against dictatorship, and ends with the 2001 revolt that caused the resignation of a president.
\nWhile visiting and observing streets, parks, buildings, sounds and graffiti, you will learn what happened in Argentina during the last 50 years. You will also learn about today\u2019s political and social issues.<\/p>\n

Tour de la Boca, San telmo and Puerto Madero<\/strong><\/p>\n

The southern area of the city of Buenos Aires is as beautiful as it is interesting. The tour starts in the colorful, scenic neighborhood of \"\"<\/a>La Boca, where thousands of European immigrants arrived and lived at the end of the 19th century. Later, acknowledging the importance of football in Argentina, the tour will visit the Boca Juniors Football Stadium. Then we will walk along San Telmo\u2019s narrow streets, in one of the oldest neighborhoods in BA where we will talk about the origins of Tango. Finally, we end the tour in one of the most exclusive, and modern neighborhoods of the city: Puerto Madero. This is an wonderful opportunity to discover the historic, fascinating southern part of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n

Tour of Tango<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Buenos Aires is known internationally for being the city where tango music and dance was nurtured. Tango is said to have been born in Buenos Aires, on the shores of the Riachuelo; in brothels and in impoverished neighborhood squats of southern Buenos Aires. The social class in which it developed was a mixture of regional people and immigrants made up by sailors, craftsmen and working class people. \u00a0\u00a0This Tango tour will reflect the true essence of \u00a0Tango.
\nIn this unique tour we will visit \u2018la Casa Museo Carlos Gardel\u2019 in the suburb \u2018tanguero\u2019 (Tango suburb)of Abasto. The most representative artist in the history of the Tango was Carlos Gardel<\/a>, whose charisma and talent managed to conquer the lovers of this music.
\nCarlos Gardel is known for writing “Mi Buenos Aires Querido” (My Beloved Buenos Aires), a tango that survived generations. This tango was, and still is, well known around the world and brings deep nostalgia to Argentineans (specially porte\u00f1os) that are far away from home.
\nThe tour guides will provide us with all the history of Tango and finally we will finish up at San Telmo to sit in bar and have a beer(or soda) while watching a little Tango show.<\/p>\n

La Bomba del Tiempo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every Monday night ,in the Abasto neighborhood La Bomba del Tiempo takes the stage at the Konex Cultural Center.
\n100\u2019s of hippie locals and tourist, come to watch this unique drum group that incorporates world beats including Central American and African rhythms, samba and Argentine folk beats such as chacarera. Instruments such as congas, djembes, maracas, shakers and cowbells can also be heard.<\/p>\n

Tango classes at La Viruta<\/strong>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The milonga La Viruta presents a very relaxed atmosphere for beginners to learn Tango. You can walk in, take a sit and have a drink of wine before joining in the group lessons.
\nThe teachers are very experienced, handle large groups well and some speak English. Partners are rotated often in classes so it is easy to make friends. Most Mente Students love this activity and end up going to La Viruta once a week to master their Tango.<\/p>\n

Buenos Aires Pubcrawl<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This activity is great for the party goer that arrives to Buenos Aires wanting to know what are the best bars to go to and the clubs (Boliches) to try.
\nThe Buenos Aires Pubcrawl gives you a little bit of everything in a huge crowd of Argentine locals and tourists.
\nIt includes:

\nEvery month we invite Mente students to a different Mente night, which is usually in a fun and relaxed atmosphere where all our \"\"<\/a>students participating in different programs can meet and make friends.
\nPast Mente nights have been, going to Fuerza Bruta, Hombre Vertiente, empanada making with Argentine Experience<\/a>, Wine tasting, Dinner at a traditional Folkloric Tucuman restaurant, Pizza and beer night, drinks in a cool bar and then boliche and many more!<\/p>\n

Spanglish<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spanglish Exchange<\/a> is a language exchange event that pairs native English and Spanish speakers in a series of conversations, half in English and half in Spanish. It’s networking and conversation practice all in one fun event!
\nGreat activity to meet locals and practise Spanish!<\/p>\n

Mundo Lingo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mundo lingo<\/a> is Multilingual Language Exchange Night. This is an opportunity for foreigners to meet argentines and for Argentines to meet foreigners with the aim being to build more connection between the two communities.
\nThis is a very relaxed atmosphere, no exact structure. Have a few drinks, practice any language, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish, whatever you desire as foreigners are from all over the world!<\/p>\n

Tigre Excursion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tigre excursion is a day for our students to get out of the hussle and bussle of Capital and enjoy a day on the river in a beautiful, \"\"<\/a>relaxing area outside the city!
\nThe excursion is all day on either Saturday or Sunday. It includes:
