La Avenida Corrientes! Located in downtown CABA, Corrientes is one of the most popular and interactive\u00a0areas in the city in terms of nightlife. Named after one of the northernmost provinces along Argentina’s border with Brazil (yay Geography), the street\u00a0features some of the biggest and most famous theaters in the country. However, one thing that newcomers\u00a0often overlook\u00a0is that this avenue is a goldmine for bookworms!<\/p>\n

Buenos Aires has more bookstores per capita than any other city in the world. La Avenida Corrientes alone is home to countless bookstores of all sizes, which hold labyrinths of various literature in all languages and genres. A few years ago I was looking for a book that has supposedly been out of print for years. After a long search, I found\u00a0what I was looking for:\u00a0Voces<\/em>\u00a0(1943) by Antonio Porchia!<\/p>\n

This group recreates the repertoire that was danced in the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s, honoring musicians like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, BB King, among others. In just a few years Los H\u00e9roes have played in the most important Jazz clubs in Buenos Aires!<\/p>\n

This is essentially a big Irish street party celebrating Argentines with Celtic heritage and all their amigos. I mentioned dancing, but the Irish will also feature traditional gastronomy and artisan creations.\u00a0In case of inclement weather, the event will be reorganized for Sunday, March 15.<\/p>\n
