Having a cell phone is an essential tool for staying safe and communicating while in Buenos Aires. At Mente Argentina, we provide options to meet your communication needs.
Upon arrival, participants have the option to receive a local SIM card with an initial credit. This allows you to have a local phone number from day one, making it easy to communicate with new friends, program coordinators, and emergency services. You can easily add credit to your SIM card at various locations throughout the city.
For those who prefer not to use their own phone or obtain a local SIM card, we offer the option to borrow a cell phone from Mente Argentina. The borrowed phone is preprogrammed with important contact information, emergency details, and radio taxi numbers. Please note that for the borrowed phone option, we require a USD 100 security deposit, which will be refunded upon the return of the phone at the end of the program.
We encourage participants to share their Argentine cell phone number with parents, guardians, or loved ones for emergency purposes. Having a cell phone ensures that you can stay connected and have peace of mind throughout your time in Buenos Aires.

As a participant of Mente Argentina, you will receive an International Student Discount Card, offering you exclusive savings and additional benefits during your time in Buenos Aires and around the world!
With the Mente Argentina International Student Card, you can enjoy great discounts at various bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and many other establishments throughout Buenos Aires. This card is designed to enhance your experience and help you make the most of your time in the city.
At Mente Argentina, we believe in providing our participants with a smooth and comfortable transition into their program. That's why we offer every Mente Argentina participant an extra 2 days/nights of accommodation to help you get settled in and prepare before your program officially starts.
This means that you will be able to arrive in Buenos Aires on the Saturday or Sunday before the program start date and enjoy one/two additional nights of accommodation at no extra cost. It's an opportunity for you to acclimate to the city, adjust to the time zone, and make any necessary preparations before diving into your program.
Please note that if you wish to extend your stay beyond the initial 2 additional nights, you are indeed able to arrive as early as you want! Additional fees may apply depending on your chosen type of accommodation. Our team will be happy to assist you in making the necessary arrangements.

If you have plans to travel for a few days before or after your program and need a secure place to store your luggage, we are happy to offer luggage storage facilities at our student reception office. You can leave your luggage with us during your travels and retrieve it when you return. Please feel free to inquire for more details and arrangements.
All participants enrolled in Mente Argentina Programs will receive important Emergency Contact information upon their arrival in Buenos Aires. This information includes emergency contact numbers to be used in case of emergencies.
In addition to the Emergency Contact information, we provide participants with direct access to our program coordinators who are available to offer immediate assistance and guidance in the event of a medical or legal emergency. They act as a crucial point of contact, providing support, advocacy, and ensuring that participants understand their options in challenging situations.
