- Finding a Practicum Location: Search for English language classes in your community or volunteer opportunities at schools, language institutes, churches, or non-profit organizations. Online tutoring or teaching can also fulfill this requirement. We can provide help and assitance as well if needed.
- Flexibility: You are responsible for arranging your practicum hours directly with your supervisor based on your schedule. Practicum hours can be completed at different locations or with different supervisors. The total duration for completing your practicum is 6 months from the start of your course.
- Current Teachers: If you are already teaching English, your current classes can count towards the practicum, provided you teach non-native English speakers. Ensure that your supervisor signs the required documents for verification.
- Supervision Documents: We will provide documents for logging your practicum hours, evaluating your teaching skills, and writing your final essay. These must be signed by your supervisor and submitted to us. If teaching independently, your students must complete an evaluation form for final approval.

The online program totals 190 hours: 170 hours of self-paced coursework plus a 20-hour practicum, combining flexible online study with verified practical teaching experience.
The current course structure includes 170 hours of online coursework plus a 20-hour practicum, for 190 hours in total. The coursework covers areas such as teaching methodology, grammar, lesson planning and classroom management, while the practicum adds real teaching/observation experience.
The academic coursework is online and self-paced rather than built around a fixed live-class timetable. You can work through the course around your existing commitments and currently have up to six months to complete it.
Because the course is self-paced, the weekly workload depends on how quickly you want to finish. A steady weekly study routine is the easiest way to complete the 170 hours of coursework within the allowed access period.
You complete 20 hours of practical experience with real English learners, which can include eligible observation, teaching or tutoring. The practicum can be done online from anywhere or in person in your own country. The rest of the course is online and does not require travel to Argentina.
You document the hours and submit the required verification as part of the certification process. Mente Argentina can also help organize a suitable practicum on a case-by-case basis when you request assistance in advance.
A university degree is not required to enroll in the course, and previous teaching experience is not required. Individual employers and countries may still impose their own degree or employment requirements after certification.
No. Native-speaker status is not required. Non-native speakers need a strong command of English, approximately C1–C2 equivalent, so they can complete teacher training successfully and teach the language accurately.
An official IELTS, Cambridge or similar certificate is not required by Mente; proficiency is evaluated through the application and interview process.
Choose Online TEFL / TESOL if flexibility and self-paced remote study are your priorities. Choose the Buenos Aires program if you want structured in-person teacher training while living in Argentina and the option to combine the experience with Spanish.
The qualification is designed to prepare you to teach English to non-native speakers, including online and international contexts. It does not guarantee employment, a particular salary or work authorization; those requirements vary by employer and country.
Booking and Payments
Create your Mente Argentina account, complete the online application and pay the USD 70 Registration Fee to confirm your place. Our team will then contact you with the scheduling or onboarding steps for your specific program.
For every online product, the Registration Fee counts toward the total program price rather than being added on top. For example, if an online program costs USD 350, a USD 70 Registration Fee leaves USD 280 remaining.
