All tuition fees and lesson costs are fully included in your program fee. The Tango Program combines individual and group lessons led by professional instructors, allowing you to develop both technical skills and the cultural understanding of this world-famous Argentine dance.

The program is open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced dancers, with personalized instruction tailored to your pace and experience.
Intensive stays of 1 or 2 weeks include 4 private lessons of about 1 hour and 4 group classes of about 2.5 hours each week. Regular stays of 4, 8, 12, or 16 weeks include 3 private lessons of about 1 hour and 3 group classes of about 2.5 hours each week. Extra private lessons can be added and cost extra. Cultural gatherings are not counted in these class hours.

We understand that accommodation is a key element in ensuring that you have a great time in Buenos Aires. That’s why we offer a wide range of housing options in the best areas of the city — Palermo, Barrio Norte, Recoleta, and Belgrano. These neighborhoods are renowned for their safety, charm, and proximity to parks, cafés, shopping, nightlife, and public transportation.
Choose from private apartments, shared apartments, university dorms (hostel-type), or homestays. No matter which option you choose, your program fee covers all expenses — including electricity, gas, water, internet access, cleaning services, and maintenance. You can relax and enjoy your stay without worrying about hidden costs.
You choose one of these homes for the stay. The fee does not place you in all four at once. Homestay meals are not included by default. Participants can add them, and that add-on is optional.
At Mente Argentina, we want your arrival and departure from Buenos Aires to be as smooth and comfortable as the rest of your experience. That’s why we include round-trip private airport transfers as part of your program — from the moment you land until the day you head home.
Arrival Pick-Up (Ezeiza or Aeroparque): A professional driver will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name. You’ll be taken directly to your accommodation, where your on-site Program Coordinator will greet you and help you get settled in — ensuring a stress-free start to your stay in Argentina.
Departure Drop-Off: When it’s time to say goodbye, we’ll also arrange your airport transfer to make sure you arrive on time for your flight. If you decide to extend your stay or travel after completing your program, our team will still assist you in organizing transportation for your return flight from Buenos Aires.

Option 2: Borrowed Phone If you prefer not to use your own device, you can borrow a phone from Mente Argentina. It comes preloaded with useful contacts, emergency numbers, and key information. A refundable USD 200 security deposit is required, which is returned once the phone is returned at the end of your program.

I have been here for two weeks. I did a tango program and some wine courses, and it was absolutely an amazing experience. The classes were very good because of the quality of the classwork and the quality of the teachers. The people working at Mente were amazing. They made my journey really so cool, and I had such a great time. All the activities around my stay were a lot of fun. We did La Bomba, which was really a lot of fun. We went to El Tigre. We did an excursion on the boat. We did a couple of city tours, like walking tours, La Boca and within Buenos Aires. That was really amazing. Overall I had a great, great time. Hi, my name is Laura, and I stayed with Mente for about one month. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend them. They just take care of so many of the things that normally you have to deal with and plan yourself when you are traveling and first arriving in a new country. I really appreciated all their help. Someone picked me up from the airport and took me to the apartment that Mente had for me, and then someone met me at the apartment, showed me how the subway worked, got me a SIM card, helped me change cash, just literally everything I needed. It showed me the basics of how the city worked. The Spanish classes were really great. They really helped me learn a lot more about the city and helped me integrate much more quickly. The Mente events every week were always a lot of fun. It was amazing how much they included in the price. It really made it feel like it was worth it. I feel like I was able to see so much more of Buenos Aires than I would have been able to on my own. Normally when you travel by yourself, there are always these little things that come up, inconveniences where you spend money you don't expect to, and Mente really helps you not run into that situation, because they show you the best way to go about doing things, and where the best places are to eat, and the best weekend trips, and just everything. I highly recommend them. They were super organized, super responsive, and just a lot of fun. Best of both worlds.

Hi, my name is Brigitte. I'm from Australia, and I've just completed a four-month program of learning tango with Mente Argentina. It's been such an incredible, amazing experience, and I'd like to share a few things about why I really recommend Mente Argentina, for the tango program or for the other programs they offer. The reason I sought out the program in the first place is that, when I decided I wanted to come to Buenos Aires to study tango, I wanted to stay in an apartment on my own, but organizing that as a foreigner in this city is not an easy thing to do. Through the Mente program they offer accommodation. They find out what your needs, requirements, and preferences are, and then find you a place based on that. They did that for me, and they were really successful, because they made sure the needs I had expressed for my living space were met. I was really grateful for that, and it enabled me to pursue my tango studies in a good headspace, feeling comfortable and relaxed in my home. The second thing is that their affiliation with the tango school here in Buenos Aires is really amazing. The school is called DNI, and I would say it is definitely one of the best tango schools in Buenos Aires. If I hadn't done the program through Mente, I wouldn't have landed at this school, so I was really grateful that they introduced me to DNI and also organized my program. They gave that extra support to work out the classes and make sure I was comfortable, and if there was anything I needed, they were there to help or to communicate with DNI if necessary. On that end, they were really great. The other thing I want to talk about is the tango process itself. I had never studied tango before I came here. I had never danced this dance at all, so I really had no idea what it was about. Now, having gone through four months of this process, I would say that it really is an incredible journey of self-discovery on many levels, learning both about ourselves and how we relate to others. If you're thinking about learning tango, or there is some desire there, I really don't think you can go wrong, because it's such a beautiful, holistic process that encompasses so many elements of life and really encourages us to grow, and it also allows us to pursue this deep yearning that I think we all have as human beings to be connected and intimate with each other, and with the rhythm of life itself as expressed through the dance and the movement. I really recommend and encourage anybody who is considering it to come here and do it, and learn at this school, because not only is the tango process itself so beautiful and amazing, but all the teachers at the school are not only dance teachers. I would say they are really amazing, exceptional human beings, because the work they do and the process they support the students in is so deep and meaningful, and so much more than just movements or steps. It's really about relationships. The quality of teaching and the professionalism is fantastic. I complete this four-month program feeling more alive and connected with myself, with my body, with life, and with other people. I'm so grateful to both Mente Argentina and the DNI Tango School for all the beautiful people who have supported this journey I've been on over these four months. Hi, I'm Amelie. I'm from Montreal, Canada, and I did the Tango program with Mente Argentina. I really enjoyed the private lessons. I learned a lot from my teacher. He taught me a lot. He is also really cute. When I go back to Montreal, I want to continue tango. I really liked my accommodation. It was a nice big apartment, with a big bedroom, and I got along with my roommates. My favorite activity was a toss-up between the day trips to Colonia and a night at the milonga. I have always liked big cities, so I find that Buenos Aires is a lot like Montreal, but with a Spanish twist. The cities have a lot of things in common, and Montreal is my favorite city to live in. I would recommend this program.
You can take the Tango Program from 1 week up to 16 weeks.
The Intensive Program is 1 or 2 weeks: 4 private lessons of about 1 hour and 4 group classes of about 2.5 hours per week, about 14 hours per week. The Regular Program runs from 4 to 16 weeks: 3 private lessons of about 1 hour and 3 group classes of about 2.5 hours per week, about 10.5 hours per week.
You can also add extra private lessons if you want more one-to-one tango time. Extra private lessons cost extra and are not included in those hours.
No. You can join on your own and at any level, including as a complete beginner. Group classes normally rotate partners, while private lessons give you dedicated one-to-one instruction. If you already dance tango, your classes can be matched to your experience.
Tango instruction can be provided in English or Spanish, so you do not need Spanish to participate. If you are learning Spanish, dancing in Buenos Aires also gives you an enjoyable way to hear and use the language in context.
Classes take place at selected tango studios, dance schools and milongas, mostly in Palermo, Recoleta, Almagro and Downtown Buenos Aires. The exact venue depends on your class type, level and schedule, and we confirm the details in advance.
No. The certificate documents your completion of the Mente Argentina Tango Program; it is not a professional teaching license or teacher-training qualification. If teaching is a long-term goal, tell us so your private lessons can focus more deeply on technique and development.
No special clothing is required. Wear clothes that let you move comfortably and secure shoes that allow you to pivot. Professional tango shoes are not required for your first classes, and Buenos Aires is a great place to buy a pair later if you decide you want them.
Yes. Tango in Buenos Aires is more than a classroom subject, so the program connects your lessons with the city's wider tango culture. Depending on the current Mente calendar, you may also join milongas, performances or other tango-related experiences as part of your stay.
Booking and Payments
Booking is simple. Create your Mente Argentina account, complete the basic application with your preferred dates and program details, and pay the Registration Fee to secure your place.
You do not need to have every flight, document or accommodation detail finalized on day one. You can update your application as those details become available.
Most Mente Argentina programs do not have one universal application deadline, but places are first come, first served and availability can become limited, especially for accommodation and small-group programs.
If you already know when you would like to come, applying early gives you the best choice. If your preferred start date is close, contact us and we will tell you what is still possible.
The Registration Fee is the one-time payment that confirms your place with Mente Argentina and starts the enrollment process. You pay it once, even if you combine more than one Mente program.
Your Registration Fee remains valid for two years from the date it was originally paid. Within that period, you can postpone your program, change dates, switch programs or return to Mente Argentina without paying a new Registration Fee.
Yes. You can combine up to three compatible Mente Argentina programs during the same weeks, and we coordinate the schedules to avoid conflicts. Two simultaneous programs is the most common combination.
If you want to do four or more experiences, the best approach is usually to spread them across different weeks—for example, two programs during the first part of your stay and two different programs later. You can also mix durations, such as four weeks of Spanish with a two-week Tango or Cooking Program.
Usually, yes. Extensions are possible subject to space in your program and accommodation.
If you think you may want to stay longer, tell us as early as possible; around three weeks' notice gives us a better chance of keeping everything continuous. You do not need to decide before you arrive.
Planning Your Stay
Yes. International and domestic flights are not included in the program fee, so you book your own travel to Buenos Aires.
If your on-site package includes Mente Argentina accommodation, arrival and departure transfers are included at no extra charge from either Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) or Aeroparque (AEP). Send us your flight details once they are confirmed; you can secure your program before buying your flights.
Mente Argentina offers accommodation in popular Buenos Aires neighborhoods such as Palermo, Belgrano, Barrio Norte and Recoleta. Depending on the program, you can choose a shared apartment with a private room, student residence, homestay or private apartment.
Wi-Fi, utilities and weekly cleaning service are included at no extra cost in every Mente Argentina accommodation type. Homestay meals are not included by default; participants can add them. Other options include a kitchen so you can cook. Common spaces vary by housing type.
Yes. If you already have a place to stay in Buenos Aires, ask us for the program-only option.
Our standard packages are designed to make the whole experience easy, but you do not need to pay for accommodation you already have arranged.
It depends on your nationality, length of stay and program. Many participants can enter Argentina without arranging a visa in advance, while longer academic programs or some nationalities require additional immigration documentation.
Mente Argentina is registered with RENURE and can provide the documentation and guidance required for eligible student-residence or visa processes. Check the current Visa Information page or contact us with your nationality and program length before making immigration decisions.
Yes. Current Argentine migration rules require foreign entrants to declare that they have valid health insurance for their stay.
We recommend a travel policy that includes medical coverage for your full time in Argentina and, ideally, protection for cancellations, delays and luggage as well. You may choose any provider that gives you appropriate coverage in Argentina.
You will have a local Mente Argentina team in Buenos Aires throughout your program, including arrival orientation and 24/7 support for unexpected situations.

Your on-site program includes a rotating calendar of curated social, cultural and local experiences in Buenos Aires, with tickets and participation included at no extra cost.
Depending on the week, these can include theater performances, football experiences, guided neighborhood or city tours, bike tours, museum visits, Argentine barbecues, dinners, food events, happy hours and other paid activities around the city.
