Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Mente Argentina collects, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies to menteargentina.com, our blog, our application and student portal, our Spanish level test, our WhatsApp channel and the programs and services we provide in Buenos Aires and online.

Who we are

Mente Argentina, Guatemala 4840, Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Contact for privacy matters: hola@menteargentina.com. Our main data protection law is Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law No. 25.326.

Information we collect

Contact and inquiries: name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, country, program of interest and your messages (forms, email, WhatsApp, chat).
Account and application: the details you give us to apply for a program (for example personal details, passport, education, program dates, accommodation preferences, emergency contact) and, only if you choose to share it, health information needed to keep you safe.
Payments: amount, date, method and reference. Card payments are processed by PayPal or Mercado Pago; from PayPal we receive the payer's name, email and transaction ID. We do not receive your full card number.
Spanish level test: your answers, scores and, if you record it, a voice sample used only to transcribe and score it.
Website use: pages visited and technical data through cookies and similar tools (see "Advertising and analytics" below) and our own visit statistics. Our own statistics are not collected if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, and you can turn them off at /privacy/opt-out.
How you found us: if you arrive from an ad or campaign link, we save the ad click ID (Google "gclid", Meta "fbclid") and campaign source with your inquiry or account, so we know which ad brought you.

How we use it

To answer your questions, process your application and visa paperwork, arrange your program (classes, accommodation, internships, activities, airport pickup), issue invoices and keep legal records, keep you safe during your program, improve our services, and send you information you asked for, and measure and show our ads (see below). We do not sell your personal information.

Legal basis: to run your application and program we rely on our contract with you; for analytics and advertising, on your consent where the law requires it and otherwise on our legitimate interest in promoting our programs (you can object at any time, see below); and on legal obligations for records we must keep.

Advertising and analytics

On our website: we use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and the Meta Pixel. They use cookies to record page views and key actions: sending a contact form, creating an account, starting an application, paying the registration fee (including the amount) and clicking our WhatsApp button.
From our servers: we may send these same actions directly to Google and Meta to measure which ads work.
Customer lists: we may upload the email and phone number of past participants, applicants and people who contacted us to Google (Customer Match) and Meta (Custom Audiences). They are hashed (SHA-256, an irreversible code) before upload. Google and Meta use them only to match people who have an account with them, so we can show relevant ads, find people with similar interests, and avoid showing ads to current participants.

Your choices: email hola@menteargentina.com and we will remove you from our advertising lists. You can also manage ads in your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences, and block or delete cookies in your browser.

When you write to us on WhatsApp, we receive your WhatsApp number, profile name and the messages and files you send, through WhatsApp Business (Meta Platforms). We use them only to answer you and to follow up on your inquiry or program, and we keep them in our internal system with restricted staff access. We only message people who wrote to us first or chose WhatsApp as their preferred contact.

Who we share it with

Only when needed: program partners in Argentina that deliver part of your program (schools, universities, internship hosts, accommodation and activity providers), government authorities when you ask us to process your visa or when the law requires it, and service providers that work for us (website hosting, Google and Meta for analytics, advertising and WhatsApp, payment processors, and AI and speech-to-text providers for the level test). They may only use your information to provide their service.

How long we keep it

Only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, accounting records are kept for 10 years under Argentine law). We remove you from advertising lists as soon as you ask.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, update or delete your information, or to stop using it for a given purpose, by writing to hola@menteargentina.com.

Data deletion

To delete your personal information, including your WhatsApp conversations with us, email hola@menteargentina.com with the subject "Data deletion request" from the email address or phone number you used with us. We will confirm your identity and delete your information within 10 business days, except records we must keep by law (such as invoices).

Changes

We may update this policy. We will publish the new version on this page with a new date.
