Mente Argentina
Callum's Culinary Arts Experience in Buenos Aires
Callum's experience with Mente Argentina
Callum did the intensive culinary course, about five months long, arriving with no kitchen experience at all. Starting from the very bottom, he was trained in everything from baking and desserts to fresh pasta and sauces, and by the end was putting together some pretty good meals. He highly recommends the course to anyone, even those who don't plan to work in food. It is taught in Spanish, which he calls fantastic, by Argentine teachers and alongside Argentine classmates, and he sees learning a country's cuisine as a really good way to gain insight into it. His verdict: very good, and highly recommended.

I did the intensive culinary course, which was about five months long. I went in having not worked in the kitchen at all, and you start from the very bottom, and you get trained to do everything, like baking, dessert, fresh pasta, and fresh sauces. Towards the end you start putting together some pretty good meals. It was very good. I would highly, highly recommend the course to anyone, even if they don't want to work in food. It is taught in Spanish, which is fantastic for you. Learning the cuisine is a really good way to get an insight into a country, and you will be learning with other Argentinians, and the teachers are Argentine. I highly recommend the course.
