Mente Argentina
Michael's University Spanish Experience in Buenos Aires
Michael's experience with Mente Argentina
Michael, 33, from Penn State, had a great time in Buenos Aires. His main advice for future participants is to get out there: it is tempting to stay in the American or foreigner circle, but he gained the most by meeting locals and practicing Spanish with them. He loved the polo outing everyone recommends and found a soccer game quite an experience. He describes the city as huge and impossible to take in at once, singling out Recoleta as a beautiful neighborhood. After three months, he traveled for a month before returning for a few days. He took both classroom and private Spanish lessons, and feels each stage, including his travels, improved his Spanish in different ways. He absolutely recommends the program and praises the coordinators.

I'm Michael Bage. I'm 33 years old. I had a really great time. I guess my advice for future participants is to try to get out there. It is tempting to stay in the American circle or the foreigner circle. I really gained a lot by meeting locals and practicing my Spanish with them. Everybody said polo, but polo was amazing. I also want to talk about a soccer game. It was quite an experience. The city itself is a great city, as I am sure anybody who is watching this will soon find out. It is huge. You are not going to take it all in at once. Recoleta is a really beautiful neighborhood, and there is so much to do. I was here for three months. I went off and traveled for a month, and I am back for a few days. The Spanish lessons that I did, I did a classroom setting and I did private lessons, and then I traveled. I think each portion improved my Spanish in different ways. My Spanish is better now, after my travels and the private lessons. Would I recommend the program? Absolutely. I recommend the program. The coordinators are great. You are lucky.
