Mitchell, from Chicago, volunteered at a specialty clinic in Buenos Aires. His favorite part was his Spanish class, with an energetic, fun teacher who made him happy to go every day. He loved the connection between class and clinic: no one at the hospital spoke English, a challenge at first that he overcame by putting his lessons to use.

I'm Mitchell Stern. I'm from Chicago, and I am here volunteering at a specialty clinic. What I enjoyed the most during my experience here was my Spanish class, because I had a really energetic, fun teacher, and it just made me happy to go there every day. I love the connection between the hospital and my Spanish classes. I feel like I was definitely able to use my class time in the hospital, since no one spoke English there. That was a challenge in the beginning, but I think I overcame it, and I really appreciate that.
