Mente Argentina
Kalina's Intensive Spanish Experience in Buenos Aires
Kalina's experience with Mente Argentina
Kalina, a college student from California, spent two months in Buenos Aires combining the Spanish program with photography and really enjoyed both. Her Spanish improved a lot; the Argentine accent was hard to understand at first, but she got used to it quickly. She calls the photography program amazing: her big project recreated the work of Coppola, a street photographer in 1930s Buenos Aires, which became a great way to get to know the city, its places and its history. She also made many friends through Mente's student activities, held several times a week, and calls it a very cool program.

Hi, my name is Kalina. I'm a college student from California. I'm doing two months here with Mente Argentina, doing the Spanish program and the photography. I have really enjoyed both of the programs. My Spanish has improved a lot since I got here. At first it was hard to understand the Argentine accent, but you get it quick, and the photography program is amazing. I ended up doing a big project, copying the work of Coppola, who was a street photographer in Buenos Aires in the 1930s. It was a really good way to get to know the city, to travel around, and to know more places and the history. Mente Argentina has really good activities for students. I made a lot of friends going to their different activities, and it is really nice to have them multiple times a week, I think every day. It is a very cool program.
