Mente Argentina
Katherine Rauner's Wine Experience in Buenos Aires
Katherine Rauner's experience with Mente Argentina
Katherine, from Chicago and Harvard University, took the two-week intensive wine course in Buenos Aires. She stayed in a homestay with a woman in Recoleta, sharing it with another Mente participant, and the two explored the city together. Every night she joined wine tastings with groups of porteños, learning about Argentine wines and how to taste wine in general, and she also took one-on-one classes with a tutor named Jorge that went deeper into the science of wine. The schedule left plenty of free time to explore the city with other international travelers and locals, giving her the balance of getting to know Buenos Aires while taking really cool classes.

My name is Katherine. I'm from Chicago, and I did the two-week intensive wine course here in Buenos Aires. I stayed in a homestay with a woman in Recoleta, and I also had another girl from Mente who was living with me, so we got to explore the city together and have a great time. Every night I did wine tasting with a bunch of porteños and learned a lot about Argentine wines and how to taste wine in general. I also took one-on-one classes with a guy named Jorge, where I learned a lot more about the science of wine and got to do one-on-one tutoring lessons. The classes also gave me a lot of time to explore the city with other international travelers, and also with other locals, so I could get to know the city and have a lot of free time, but also take these really cool classes.
